I was recently pleasantly surprised by the usefulness of the LastFMProxy application and talked about it some here.
Now it’s become my dirty little indulgent programming side project. I haven’t changed very much at all other than the most minor of items wrt io stability as well as a new grey navbar to handle some preset music streams as well as listening to a stream of similar sounding artists without having to remeber the rest urls.
Again not a big deal, just minor tweaks here and there, but at least I don’t have to restart the client every once in a while anymore. That was my biggest gripe and now it’s gone - but playing with python has been so much fun I may just keep tweaking things for a while anyways.

Awesome, thanks for the updates. I was just thinking about how I miss using it, but how it’s really too much trouble.. hopefully with these changes it’ll be easier to set up and forget about until I want to use it.

Thanks for the update! Again here are some minor or major problems:
First of all you didn’t update the version info in the web interface!
Secondly names can’t be resolved anymore. XMMS only shows “Wait…(last.fm)”
