What an incredibly weird day I am having. It’s been a really really long time(besides reading through Howard’s tapestry/hivemind code) since I felt like I was learning a new concept or was mentored by someone that blew me away, but it happened today.

In only about 10 minutes time I was sufficiently foaming at the mouth after learning what JS is really doing / capable of. It’s really a humbling experience, and kind of scary at the same time..I’m surprised that I managed to hack together the first couple versions of tacos4 at all to be honest, but I guess dojo saved me from a lot of things without me even knowing it.

Now it’s become apparent that I immediately loved dojo for all the wrong reasons. Some of them are still there, but there are so many other things going on in there that it’s really just humbling is all I can think of to say. Of course the other side of the coin is that I’m more and more thinking that there are some rough edges here and there, but considering what I’m starting to learn from my mentor and who else might know as much as he about these things I don’t think the roughness will be around for very long.

Who cares about ruby ? No that’s a bad statement..I’m sure it has tons of cool features, but what’s even more exciting is learning that most of them are already there in your web browser. (at least from what I know of hearing ruby described to me by people using it and whatever smattering of reading I’ve done).

It looks like I still have a lot more learning to do now, but thankfully a kind soul has started pointing me down the right path. Thank you!!
